Cheer Dynasty has partnered with the Paigey's Heart Foundation to help raise money for an already established scholarship fund in Paige Johnson's name so that no athlete/cheerleader is left behind. Here is her story:
Remembering a Cheerleading Hero and Friend through Paigey's Heart Foundation
Paige MacKenzie Johnson of Ashburn was known for helping people. As a Cheerleader for Cheer Madness, she mentored the younger girls. She was popular, yet she didn't judge anyone who wanted to be her friend. Her friends loved her greatly which is expressed deeply on a Foundation's webpage her parents (Matt and Trish) started in her honor (www.paigeysheart.org). Paige died on December 3, 2005 from injuries she sustained after being hit by a car while out with her college friends near
East
Carolina
University
.
Paige's Spirit lives on through organ donations and in the memory of all the young girls at Cheer Dynasty that knew and loved her. The pain of our loss is still strong, but we know this has been a blessing attached to a tragic event. Paige gave the gift of life to others, the greatest sacrifice. The Foundation was started in honor of Paige and to continue her dream to teach and help others.
The Foundation has partnered with Cheer Dynasty to help raise money so that no athlete/cheerleader is left behind. A lasting tribute to Paige can be seen with the Foundation's logo, "Pwings" or Pink Paige Wings.
